Arrows Invitational 5k
Run Report - Rachel Lee
We had a fantastic time at the Harpenden Arrows 5k invitational at Rothamsted Park. It was great to run alongside the other clubs for fun (OK with a bit of racing at the end!) it’s surprising how many of us still say we feel nervous before a race but we received a warm welcome which immediately put us at ease. It was also great for HEADWAY and MOMENTUM to run together (complete with new running tops!) and really feel part of a team.
We were agreed that the best bit was the final run down the hill to the amazing support and cheers of the other runners. This was really encouraging and I managed a final sprint at the end – yay! We finished the evening at St Georges school with amazing food and cake provided by Harpenden Arrows. Thank you so much Louise, Graham and Andy it was great to be part of it, I really enjoyed it.
”Thank you so much, it was great to be part of it!
Rachel started running with us in Jan 2017 and turned up and ran the Arrows Invitational 5k last year as one of just two of our members who ‘dared’ come along (and were free that evening!) and she was back again this year!
